On August 30, 2018, the 9th China Patent Annual Conference, which was held by the National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and sponsored by the Intellectual Property Publishing House, opened in Beijing under the theme "Patent-Boosting Opening-up." CNIPA Party Group Secretary and CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Liu Junchen presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech, after which CNIPA Commissioner Shen Changyu and Francis Gurry, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization gave informative speeches. It is understood that the main weakness in the patent field lies in the difficulty of search, reading and analysis. The launch of the JoveEye knowledge-service platform for scientific research is able to solve this problem. At the same time, unique data analysis models have been innovatively introduced, such as knowledge graphs integrating 10 billion technology entities and entity relationships, machine translation in the patent field, and hype-cycle curve index, realizing such functions as intelligent semantic retrieval of patent information, multilingual machine translation, and automatic technology classification based on semantics. GTCOM's machine-translation research team selected 50 million sentence pairs from 110 million parallel sentence pairs in the patent field as training data for the patent translation model, and conducted quality test and model optimization in strict accordance with the translation standards of the national translation industry and the national intellectual property industry. With a translation speed of 16,000 words per second, patent-oriented machine translation is a useful and professional translation tool for users in the patent field who want to process multilingual professional literature and web articles in batches according to their particular needs.
